The Ponds has reached its 500 land sales milestone, representing over $141 million worth of sales within a two year period.
Land sales have dramatically accelerated within the last six months following the introduction of the Federal Government’s First Home Owner Boost scheme in October last year.
“In the six months prior to the boost scheme 97 land sales were secured and following this announcement 285 have been achieved which is an outstanding result in the current market,” said Tony Pizzolato, Australand’s General Manager for Residential.
“First home buyers have played a major role in the sales success at The Ponds, representing over 70 per cent of land purchases within the last six months.
“Young families and retirees have also helped drive demand at The Ponds,” he added.
“More than 100 land lots have been brought forward this year to meet demand in this growing suburb.”
The next land release will be available on the 30 May. Twenty-one land lots feature in this release, some with frontages up to 18 metres. Most of the lots are located along The Ponds Boulevard and range in size from 460 sq m to 570 sq m. Prices start from $270,000.
Mr Pizzolato continued, “The chance to live in a new community surrounded by kilometres of cycle and bike paths, an 80 hectare nature reserve and plenty of facilities for recreational activities including playgrounds, picnic and BBQ areas has also helped secure land sales. Lifestyle is the key driver.”
Seventy-five homes are now occupied and there are 130 students now attending John Palmer Public School. When complete, the 390 hectare master-planned community which is being developed by Landcom and Australand will comprise over 3 000 homes.
